China Tacheng 1 GW Multi-energy Complementary Project
As the largest PV power generation project in Xinjiang, the Tacheng project was constructed by China Huadian Corporation LTD. as part of a large-scale, digital, and multi-energy complementary clean energy base to generate green electricity and carry out PV-assist desertification control. The project is combined with over 1.16 million pieces of ASTRO 5 modules, which is expected to save about 300,000 tons of standard coal annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 780,000 tons. With “Solar + Desertification Control” application, the shaded area of PV power generation areas could help to reduce soil moisture evaporation, reduce wind speed, fix shifting sand, create favorable conditions for vegetation growth, and promote the integration and friendly development of new energy and ecology, said the project constructor, getting a double or even triple advantages of green power, better environment and less pollution.
Canada Claresholm 132MW Solar Park
Canada Claresholm 132MW Solar Park, located Willow Creek, Southern Alberta, is equipped with 455,758 ASTRO modules mounted on fixed-tilt racking. Covering 1,280 acres of agriculture land, this project is expected to avoid approximately 149,000 tones of CO? annually and generate sufficient renewable power for around 33,000 households in Alberta. Under the terms of the PPA (Power Purchase Agreement), the majority?of Claresholm’s power?and associated emission offsets?are?sold to TC Energy. In addition to green energy, the project also has a positive impact on local employment by offering more than 350 full-time jobs during the construction period, and contributes C $35 million (US $28.21 million) in property tax revenue to the local economy over the life of the project.
Brazil Sert?o 117MW Solar Park
Brazil Sert?o 117MW Solar Park, located in Bahia, is equipped with 349,253 modules. Astronergy has provided 48MW ASTRO modules for the project. Through a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) issued by government, the solar park will generate 275GWh of electricity to meet the demand of 145,000 families and reduce the carbon dioxide emissions by more than 34,000 tons. This large-scale project is expected to contribute to the growing renewable energy market in Latin America. According to a report by T&B Petroleum (August 2022), Bahia continues to be the protagonist of renewable energy in Brazil and leads the country in solar power generation (30.30%). Currently, the state has 41 solar park in operation with an installed solar capacity of 1,349 MW.
Portugal ?nsua 48.5MW Solar Park
Portugal ?nsua 48.5MW Solar Park, located in the region of Pias, covers approximately 80 hectares and uses 116,778 ASTRO modules. The solar park is expected to produce around 94,000 MWh per year over a 30-year period, providing green energy to roughly 26,000 households. Constructed by CHINT Solar, this solar park has ASTRO modules installed on a single-axis tracker system that tracks the position of the sun to improve the efficiency of solar power generation. Portugal has the unique advantage of renewable resources and actively promotes renewable energy development policies. According to Portugal’s 2030 National?Energy?and?Climate?Plan (NECP), the government has set a target of reaching a total PV capacity of 6.6 GW by 2025 and 9GW by 2030.
Uganda 137kW C&I Distributed PV Power Station
Located at The Rakai Health Sciences Program?(RHSP) in Uganda, the project is constructed by Energy Systems Limited (ESL) and installed capacity of 137kW ASTRO 5 modules. The power station was fully connected to the grid during Sep, 2023. The Rakai Health Sciences Program?(RHSP) commits to?conducting?innovative?and relevant health research in infectious diseases. To ensure that center’s operations are not affected by power shortages during unexpected pandemic, The Rakai Health Sciences Program?(RHSP) set up an uninterrupted, cost-effective solar energy system to improve the sustainability of medical research.
